Tracking the legal challenges to Trump's emergency declaration

One of the first cases, filed on the same day Trump issued his proclamation, has since been dismissed by the plaintiffs. Public Citizen on behalf of the Frontera Audubon Society and three landowners in south Texas filed a notice of dismissal Monday, saying that the funds obtained via the declaration will not be used to build physical barriers in the areas where their clients are located.
Six other cases challenging the declaration are pending. The argument at the core of each lawsuit is similar: Trump exceeded his authority and circumvented Congress in an attempt to achieve his signature campaign promise for an emergency that, plaintiffs argue, doesn't exist.
