Trump renews tariff threat ahead of critical Chinese trade talks

In two tweets, Trump said $325 billion of Chinese goods will be taxed "shortly" at a rate of 25%. He also said the existing 10% tariff placed last year on $200 billion of goods will be increased on Friday to 25%.
"These payments are partially responsible for our great economic results," he said of the tariffs, adding that they "have had little impact on product cost, mostly borne by China."
"The Trade Deal with China continues, but too slowly, as they attempt to renegotiate. No!" Trump wrote.
The President's comments come two months after the President warned that the US tariffs on Chinese goods were unlikely to go away anytime soon -- even if the two countries reach a deal to end their trade war that began in 2018.
