No shots were fired at Louisiana Walmart during altercation

Earlier, East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff Sid Gautreaux III told reporters there was a shooting at the store in Baton Rouge.
Local authorities had said a man fired a gun during an argument, shooting and injuring a bystander who was in line to buy a lunchbox. One of the two men in the altercation was arrested after someone called 911, and authorities were looking for the other man, Gautreaux said.
According to a federal law enforcement officer who responded to the incident and was briefed on the specifics, the incident involved two males and a female.
One of the men was with the female at a self-checkout line when they were approached by a man. The man said some vulgar things to the woman, at which point an argument escalated, the officer said.
The man who approached the pair had a concealed weapon, as well as a license to carry.
The man and woman exited the Walmart and the male returned to confront the other male with a pair of scissors. Anxious shoppers and witnesses believed they heard a gunshot.
According to the federal source, no casings were recovered and video surveillance never showed the man with the weapon firing his gun. The man with the scissors was injured after slamming into some store shelves while running from the male with the gun.
About 200 patrons were in the store when the incident happened, and officers evacuated the store upon arriving, according to the sheriff.
Tuesday's incident in Baton Rouge came three days after a gunman killed 22 people and injured another 24 at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas.
This story has been updated to include a federal source saying no shooting occurred.
